How Do I Tell Normal Inflammation Apart From an Infection?
Inflammation peaks early, within the first two to three days, then steadily improves; infection moves the opposite direction, worsening after day three with spreading redness, discharge, or fever. Direction of travel, better versus worse, is the clearest signal, and no surgical procedure carries zero risk.
