The Anatomy: Why the Cheekbone?
The zygomatic bone (cheekbone) is a dense cortical bone structure that remains stable even when the upper jaw (maxilla) has severely resorbed. Zygomatic implants pass through the sinus and engage the zygomatic bone at 30–50mm length — providing excellent primary stability even without alveolar bone support.
